The first is a stationary grand piano bench (Duet Bench) is 35 inches wide and 19 inches high. With the duet bench the width is proportioned to the size of the piano and the bench will easily seat two people. The traditional standard upright bench is 30 inches wide by 19 inches high and is a fine piece of furniture to use with all upright pianos. For smaller pianos such as spinets, I would consider a 25-inch-wide piano/keyboard bench to be just the right size. I will often recommend an adjustable bench for families (and teachers) with multiple players and pianists concerned with posture might select an adjustable or a high level Artists bench.
For a person who likes to rock or swing when relaxing, bench swings or glider benches are fun. With gliders you can sway forward and backward enjoying your coke while sitting outside. Add extra colours and relaxation to outdoor benches with a 1 piece bench cushion or 2 piece bench cushion designed for many bench and porch swings. Regardless of what type of outdoor bench your family is thinking to get, you can pretty much be assured there is several to choose from. With so many colours, designs, materials and makers manufacturing quality benches, you should be confident you will find exactly what you are looking for.
Many outdoor benches are multi-purpose, for example, they can be used in city parks, in malls, as well as serving as great garden benches. In this article I will provide some examples of the many types and styles of garden benches available. However, there are even more than these to choose from: Standard garden and park bench: This kind of bench is sold most commonly six feet in length, but that is also available as short as four feet, redefines the traditional park bench style. The bench has a flat long seat and a wooden frame and legs. There is a gap between the bench seat and the bench seat back, however this is a very comfortable type of garden bench.
Wood Finishes. Piano bench manufacturers offer a wood finish to match any finish provided by the piano manufacturer. It is very easy to get an exact match as long as you review the choices you are offered. When choosing a bench to match a mahogany piano you will need to bear in mind that there might be four shades of mahogany available from the bench manufacturer and you should select accordingly. Most bench manufacturers will offer a dark mahogany, medium mahogany (also called cherry), a brown mahogany, and a Steinway mahogany (they are popular enough and just a slight shade different that they have a shade named after the piano). Most finishes will come in a high gloss offering as well, though it will likely cost a little more money to get it. If your piano is a high gloss piano, such as a grand piano likely has, you should match it.
Taking this into account, if you are looking for a piano bench to go with your Steinway piano, the two most common options are either a wood top bench, or the above mentioned artist bench (the other option would be an upholstered top bench, which while more comfortable, does not highlight the elegance of the Steinway piano as much as a finished wood top bench does, and thus is less popular). Of the two choices, the most popular is the Jansen artist bench, for both its design and usability. If youve seen a Steinway piano in a concert hall, the adjustable artist bench with it is a Jansen (and its quality is such that it is perfect for performance halls, teaching studios, and home use).
